If poperly taken care of the rope in your hammock should last 8 10 years. To get all your mileage out of your hanging rope take care of it by inspecting it for mold and mildew frequently. When not in use store it in a clean dry place. Also clean and scrub your hammock with soapy water to loosen any particles.
