January 18, 2008, Newsletter Issue #98: The Alternate Hardwood Hammock

Tip of the Week

We think of hammocks as comfortable and relaxing chairs for a lazy afternoon of reading or relaxing. Hammocks are also defined as "islands" of hardwood trees and plants growing on a slightly elevated, drained vegetative area, surrounded by plants that are typical in wetter, marshy environments. "Hammock" is also used to explain any of the hardwood forests in Florida.
