Maximum Length for a HammockIf your are not using a tailor made stand there's a good chance that your hammock will be too short for the area you had in mind. If that's the case you can get extension ropes or chains. A good rule of thumb to follow is don't extend the original hammock length more than three feet. This should be divided equally on both ends. If that still does not fit, get a bigger hammock or risk getting tipped out of your hammock regularly.
