Hanging A Hammock

For those who are using poles or posts, it's very important to bury your poles at least two feet (twenty four inches) in the ground. This insures good, sturdy support for the hammock. Remember that your hammock will have an amount of "sag" when it is occupied, so be sure to hang it with the proper elevation to keep you from brushing the ground. Some hammocks need as little as four feet hanging space, others can require six to eight feet, depending on the type of hammock you buy. You may need to do a bit of experimenting with the height, so it's best to have a friend standing by to hop in and out of the hammock as you measure and readjust.
